The River Nene lighthouses, Sutton Bridge

Last week I showed you one of the ornamental lighthouses at the mouth of the River Nene near Sutton Bridge in Lincolnshire.

Here is a photograph of the pair of them in the trees on either side of the river. The righthand one is the East lighthouse, Peter Scott's home in the 1930s. It is shown close up in the second photograph.

Have you really only had a digital camera for a few months? I love that first photograph - its composition is absolutely perfect.

Tom, composition is easy when you have a landscape which has as much scenic grandeur as this (and a beautifully sunny day too).

Absolutely marvellous!

perhaps you have not realised the significance of this lighthouse for "The Snow Goose",

Please listen on iplayer to the Open Book programme, radio4, 4pm on 23rd May. The whole half hour was dedicated to this location.....

The listen to The Snow Goose.... you will be amazed.

Hi, doing some research with my grand daughter. My grandfather, and his parents lived in the East Lighthouse at the turn of the 19/20 Centuries. Great Photo. Thanks.
