David Lloyd George and Winston Churchill

The best source I know on the personalities of the big beasts of the 1906 Liberal government is Lucy Masterman's biography of her husband Charles - C.F.G. Masterman.

Here she describes Churchill and Lloyd George conversing in the House of Commons:
Lloyd George and Winston Churchill were on the bench together just after the birth of Winston's daughter. "Is she a pretty child?" said George. "The prettiest child ever seen," said Winston beaming. "Like her mother, I suppose?" said George. "No," said Winston, still more gravely, "she is exactly like me."
