Woman rescued from old mine at Snailbeach

Fifty-one volunteers from Midland Cave Rescue, police and ambulance crews rescued a caver who had become trapped in a disused lead mine at Snailbeach in Shropshire in a six-hour operation, the Shropshire Star reports. The newspaper also links to an audio report of the rescue by a local radio station.

The woman, who was brought to the surface at 3.30 this morning, had suffered an epileptic fit and fallen.
